The aim of Physiotherapy is to enable patients
to regain their physical movement and function as much as
possible. The service includes decreasing pain in joints,
soft tissue healing, improving heart and lung capacity,
improving muscle power and functional rehabilitation. It
covers a diverse range of approaches such as manual therapy,
mobilization, exercise and electrotherapy.
At SIRC a qualified physiotherapist assesses and identifies the
problem and then makes an individual treatment plan (including
discharge planning) which is carried out by physiotherapy assistants
or volunteers.The patient progress is closely monitored and medical
records kept to measure the outcome objectively and subjectively.
Before discharge, a follow up program is agreed with the patient.
